Greg, having detailed his adventures in the Unknown to those around him, shakes his pet frog, who rings and glows, indicating that Auntie Whispers' magical bell is still inside him and that Wirt and Greg's journey into the Unknown was not in their imaginations. Sara tells Wirt that she hasn't listened to a cassette tape that he made for her, as she does not own a cassette tape player. After being taken by ambulance to a hospital, Wirt regains consciousness and finds that his friends and Sara are present.

He pulls Greg up to the surface with him, where the police and his friends await. After Wirt and Beatrice exchange goodbyes, Wirt is shown awakening underwater in a lake.

As they depart, the Woodsman, who had been told by the Beast that he was keeping his daughter alive by keeping the lantern alight, ignores the Beast's continuous lies and extinguishes the lantern, defeating the Beast. Wirt frees Greg and gives Beatrice the magical scissors belonging to Adelaide, which will cure Beatrice and her family of the curse that transformed them into bluebirds. Wirt however, realizes that the Beast's soul resides inside the lantern, explaining this to all present, and refuses the offer.

Having knocked down the Woodsman, the Beast offers to Wirt to keep Greg's soul alive within his lantern, as long as Wirt takes on the Woodsman's task of keeping the lantern alight. He attempts to help Greg and to drive the Beast away as Wirt and Beatrice arrive. He finds Greg, who is in the process of being turned into an Edelwood tree by the Beast. Meanwhile, the Woodsman journeys into the forest as the sun sets, in search of Edelwood. Upon finding Wirt, Beatrice begins to lead him to where she saw Greg. If you like the creativity of Regular Show, the quirkiness of Adventure Time, and the art of Steven Universe, coupled with the humor of Amazing World of Gumball, this is without a doubt the best animated creation that has been put out in decades. The bluebird Beatrice navigates through a snowstorm in search of Wirt, and comes across Greg, who is performing meaningless tasks at the request of the Beast. And just as I was growing worried for animation on television like Clarence or Uncle Grandpa which leave little to be desired.
Over the garden wall season 1 episode 8 series#
The series is short and wonderful, and it needs more exploitation. Lessons in trust, family, friends, love, and honor perfectly blend with the simplistic yet entrancing artwork, and not since Gravity Falls has a cartoon ever amazed me with its genius concept and plot devices. Elijah Wood gives an amazing and realistic depiction of the average modern teen, and Greg provides the comical child-like wonder that we all could relate to our past as kids.
Over the garden wall season 1 episode 8 movie#
Ten episodes, each about ten minutes, giving practically a feature- length movie that is certainly going to strike you as wonderful. It isn't too long, it perfectly runs its course, unlike other fantastic shows like Adventure Time or Regular Show that can be hard to keep up with. Never once has a series or movie ever gotten me so interested. This series, without a doubt, is a treasure of animation.
